MEMC will provide emergency medical screening and stabilization to all individuals in accordance with the Emergency Medical Services/Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act Policy (EMTLA).
***PLEASE NOTE: SEARHC patients may see a delay in billing due to the finalization of regulatory documents associated with the recent merger. For services received prior to August 1, patients will receive a bill from Sitka Community Hospital. For services received after August 1, patients will receive a bill from SEARHC.***
Inpatient Hospital Services
MEMC provides 24/7 in-house hospitalists dedicated to the delivery of comprehensive medical care to patients. Your primary care physician (PCP) and our board-certified physicians and midlevel providers will plan and manage your treatment together throughout your stay.
Once admitted to the hospital, your hospitalist coordinates your course of treatment, including ordering diagnostic imaging studies and lab work. Your hospitalist works with you and your family and will personally answer or discuss questions you have about your illness, medications, and diagnostic and treatment processes during your hospitalization.

MEMC Critical Care Services provides comprehensive, holistic and culturally sensitive, multidisciplinary management of critically ill patients. Our Swing Bed Program emphasizes rehabilitation and features specialized nursing care. The program is for patients who meet additional special criteria and no longer require acute care in the hospital but need additional short-term care before going home.

Our surgery facilities often allow patients to come in for same-day surgery and leave after a few hours to recover at home with family and friends when an overnight stay is not necessary.
