Our Services
SEARHC provides diabetes self-management education and support as well as case management, and health promotion activities to individuals throughout Southeast Alaska living with diabetes, gestational diabetes or prediabetes.
SEARHC provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and nutrition counseling to help individuals meet their health and wellness goals. Our registered dietitians (RDs) work closely with patients to develop personalized meal plans and dietary strategies tailored to individual needs. Whether you’re managing chronic conditions, recovering from surgery or optimizing nutrition for overall well-being, we are here to support you. We work with patients across the region and collaborate with local organizations for community outreach programs and events, bringing expert nutrition guidance and service closer to home.
SEARHC is committed to supporting patients in a healthy weight loss journey. This journey goes well beyond the scale and involves fostering sustainable lifestyle changes through balanced nutrition, regular physical activity and personalized care.
WISEWOMAN Women’s Health Program provides health screening and patient navigation programs for Alaskan women. We remove financial barriers that prevent women from screening for cancer. If necessary, the program helps women obtain the care needed (including mammograms, Pap tests, breast, and pelvic exams). The WISEWOMAN program provides low-income, underinsured or uninsured women with chronic disease risk-factor screening, lifestyle programs, and referral services to prevent cardiovascular disease. The priority age group is women aged 21–64 years old.
The WIC Program (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) provides nutritious foods, information on healthy eating and living, and referrals to healthcare for pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, and infants and children up to five years old. WIC also supports and encourages women to breastfeed by providing free education and support from breastfeeding peer counselors for successful breastfeeding, and free manual and electric breast pumps.
