Education and Experience
Dr. Kimberly Capp earned a BA in Foreign Languages and BS in Biology from New Mexico State University – Las Cruces. She earned her medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, PA. After a one year traditional osteopathic rotating internship, Dr. Capp entered a four year Internal Med/Pediatrics Residency Program at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She completed her residency and was Board Certified in both Internal Medicine (ABIM) and Pediatrics (ABP) 2010.
Prior to working with SEARHC, Dr. Capp worked as a rural primary care physician in Seaside, Oregon practicing in the clinic, hospital, and doing community home visits. She now practices as a full-time Hospitalist at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital is Sitka.
Dr. Capp was born and raised in San Jose, California. She met her husband Trenton from Juneau, Alaska while attending college. The couple has two children and enjoy the activities and opportunities in Southeast Alaska.
Personal Interests
Dr. Capp loves kayaking, swimming, crafting with her two daughters, practicing yoga and mindful meditation. She and her husband are also science fiction and fantasy fans.
