Rehabilitation Services

Recovering from an illness or injury might require more specialized care after your initial treatment by a doctor. SEARHC offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to help you recover, improve, or keep skills that aid in your day-to-day functions and allow you to reach your greatest potential. SEARHC Rehabilitation Services are available to all individuals in our community.

Referral for therapy

Your primary medical provider may provide you with a referral or send one directly to SEARHC Rehabilitation Services electronically, via fax, or mail. If you don’t currently have a referral, please contact your primary care provider to obtain a referral.


Prior to scheduling your first appointment, all patients new to SEARHC must complete the New Patient Registration here or contact 907.463.4040 to get setup as a patient.

If you are already a SEARHC patient or once you are registered, our patient access representative can schedule your first appointment.

Preparing for your appointment

Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first appointment. This will give you enough time to check in with the front desk and complete the new patient paperwork before your appointment begins. Patients who are coming for occupational therapy, massage therapy or physical therapy should dress in casual, loose-fitting clothing.

Appointment reminders

When you schedule your first appointment, our front desk will ask you if you prefer email or text reminders. Please note that we do not receive replies to either the text or email reminders. You must call us directly if you need to make changes to your appointment.

Cancellation policy

We understand circumstances may change and there might be a need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us before 5:00 pm the day prior.

Patients who no show (do not keep an appointment without notifying us) or cancels without prior days’ notice for 2 consecutive appointments or 3 times overall will have all remaining appointments cancelled.

We make every effort to accommodate your schedule. If you arrive late for an appointment, the therapist may not have the time to treat you or your therapy time may be reduced.

Accompanying your child to their rehabilitation appointment

We welcome family involvement in SEAHRC Pediatric Therapy, but take an individualized approach. Most caregivers are present and participate in the therapy sessions. Caregiver participation is highly encouraged for all pediatric patients 8 and under and patient who need assistance with toileting. However, other options include waiting in the waiting room, running an errand or going for a walk nearby during the session. If you do choose to leave, we simply ask that you are back prior to the end of the session and leave us with a working cell phone number.

Can I bring my child’s siblings with me to therapy?

About half of our families bring a sibling with their child who is receiving therapy. However, we ask that you keep in mind what is in the best therapeutic interest for your child and also ask that you are responsible for and present with your other children who come along.
