WMC’s Rehabilitation Services staff provides a wide range of therapies, including:
– Physical Therapy: Orthopedics and sports-related injuries, geriatrics, recovery from hip/knee replacements and neurological disorders. The department also uses manual therapy techniques to improve back pain and other related pain disorders.
– Occupational Therapy: Treatment of the hand, elbow, and shoulder areas with the aim of returning patients to optimal functional mobility in a wide variety of daily tasks.
– Speech Therapy: Identifying and treating receptive and expressive language disorders, rebuilding cognitive function and memory loss after a stroke or injury, identifying deficits and providing compensatory therapy in fluency (stuttering and other voice articulation issues) and aggressively addressing developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, phonological disorders and swallowing studies.
– Long-Term Care and Transitional Care: Orthopedics, geriatrics, recovery from hip/knee replacements and neurological disorders. All therapy services are also available to long-term care and transitional care patients.
