Radiology

SEARHC’s Radiology Department provides a variety of advanced imaging options in a caring and safe environment. Often, radiography is the primary step in the diagnosis and treatment of many health concerns. When you need imaging services, like an X-ray, for example, our radiologists specialize in reading and interpreting the imagery captured.

Radiology at SEARHC includes a variety of imaging techniques such as X-ray radiography, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), digital 2D and 3D mammography to diagnose and/or treat diseases.

Using the diagnostic images, your SEARHC radiologist or other physicians can often:

  • Diagnose the cause of your symptoms
  • Monitor how well your body is responding to a treatment you are receiving for your disease or condition
  • Screen for different illnesses, such as breast cancer, colon cancer or heart disease

SEARHC’s radiology department provides real-time monitoring of patient positioning, x-ray tube alignment and cassette placement through its award-winning remote camera technology. The department was awarded the 2018 Innovation in Transformation Award by the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association.

See the “All Locations” section of our page for a full list of SEARHC hospitals and clinics where radiology services are available.
