Hepatology

Our hepatologists are trusted experts in the health of your liver, gallbladder and pancreas. Along with your digestive tract, these are the three organs your body uses to break down the food you eat. When you need treatment for liver disease or have an infection like hepatitis, you may need the care of a hepatologist. They will work with your primary care provider to screen and treat the following conditions:

  • Alcohol liver disease
  • Autoimmune hepatitis
  • Cirrhosis of the liver
  • Hemochromatosis
  • Hepatitis/Hepatitis C
  • Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
  • Primary biliary cholangitis
  • Viral Hepatitis

To make an appointment with our hepatologist, talk to your provider about a referral today.

Specialty Care services are available to all Alaska residents and primarily take place in Sitka and Juneau. If you are a patient who is interested in traveling to attend one of these clinics, please speak with your provider. Patient housing is available but call as soon as possible because space is limited.

If you are a patient already scheduled for a specialty clinic and need to change your appointment, or if you have general questions about the specialty services we offer, please call 907.966.HERE or email specialtycare@searhc.org.
