Education and Experience
Tracy Merry, chief nursing officer for SEARHC Wrangell Medical Center in Wrangell, Alaska, holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University in Chicago, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama. Merry began her career as an oncology nurse in Memphis, Tennessee, working in the Medical/Surgical Oncology Unit and Myelosuppression Unit. With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, primarily in the acute care setting, she has served as chief nursing officer in both critical access hospitals and 300-plus bed hospitals in Alabama, Arizona, Maine, Mississippi and Tennessee.
“The most rewarding aspect of my work is being able to make a difference every day in people’s lives,” Merry said.

Outside of work, Merry is an avid runner and enjoys fishing.
