Petersburg, known as “Little Norway” because its Norwegian heritage, has a population of ~3,200, and is located on the north end of Mitkof Island. Petersburg is homeport to one of most productive and diverse commercial fishing fleets in Alaska with over 70 million pounds of fish and shellfish crossing the dock each year.
Mountainside Behavioral Health provides residents and visitors of Petersburg high-quality behavioral health services from psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and behavioral health therapists. Oceanside Dental Clinic is now accepting appointments with care that encompasses the health of the entire mouth for patients of all ages.
The SEARHC Community Family Service Program provides individualized prevention, substance abuse and/or behavioral health counseling services. The Petersburg Medical Center is not a SEARHC facility, but is contracted by SEARHC Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) to provide health care to beneficiaries.
