Education and Experience
Torehn Thompson is a seasoned Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who provides an extensive background in foodservice management, most often in long-term care communities. Torehn completed his undergraduate studies and dietetic internships through North Dakota State University. Torehn then went on to oversee the operations of 16 long-term care communities throughout Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado, and he piloted a teaching kitchen program that showcased the preparation of nutritious meals to residents in independent living facilities.
He was involved in the hiring and training of other Registered Dietitians, onboarding dietary managers, serving as a preceptor for several dietary managers who were working to obtain their CDM credential, and ensuring clinical and food service regulations were followed by the kitchen and clinical staff. He is currently working to obtain his Board Certification as a Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition.
Personal Interests
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Torehn enjoys running, biking, and any other type of outdoor activity, as well as shows like Breaking Bad and Survivor. He also loves traveling both within the United States and abroad with his wonderful wife, Rachel, and his spoiled dog, Africa.
