Education and Experience
Chelsea Sutton earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maine. Her undergraduate degree consisted of a Major in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Minor in Childhood Development and Women & Gender Studies. Chelsea later earned her Master’s of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Emerson College in Boston.
Chelsea Sutton specializes in relationship and play-based therapy, supporting the foundational language milestones children need to express themselves fully. Her approach ranges from fostering social skills in teenagers to guiding families through play-based learning with children on the autism spectrum. Chelsea takes a holistic view of each child’s needs, working closely with families to promote meaningful growth and connection.
Her inspiration comes directly from her patients and colleagues. Chelsea finds joy in witnessing shy children open and in the collaborative efforts between occupational and speech therapists who use play to meet each child’s unique needs. Every day, she is motivated by the relationships, creativity, and joy that emerge through therapeutic play.Personal Interests
Outside of work, Chealsea enjoys combing beaches for seashells, paddleboarding, playing soccer, watercolor painting, fishing and snowboarding. While living in Southeast Alaska, it’s hard not to be outside exploring this beautiful place.
