Education and Experience
Laura Maruhashi, originally from Seattle, WA, developed an interest in physical therapy during her gymnastics career. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver, CO, in 2016. Laura became a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedics (OCS) in 2021 and a certified orthopedic musculoskeletal therapist (COMT) in 2024. Additionally, she holds certifications in blood flow restriction training and dry needling.
Laura joined the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) at the Juneau Physical Rehabilitation Clinic in April 2024. She brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for helping patients achieve their movement goals. Laura manages orthopedic conditions involving the neck, shoulder, elbow, thoracic spine, low back, pelvis, hip, knee, ankle and foot. She particularly enjoys working with athletes of all ages and finds immense satisfaction in seeing her patients back out in the community doing the things they love.
Personal Interests
In her free time, Laura loves to take advantage of the outdoor opportunities in Juneau. She enjoys rock climbing, backcountry skiing, trail running and mountain biking with her friends, family and her village dog, Rossi.
