Education and Experience
Cynthia Gordon, RN, CDCES, brings extensive experience and a passion for diabetes education and case management to SEARHC. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University and her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from the College of Southern Maryland.
Cynthia has worked in various healthcare settings, including Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, where she served as a Diabetes Educator providing both inpatient and outpatient care. She has also worked as a staff nurse and case manager at Kaiser Permanente in Honolulu, Hawaii, and as a Diabetes Educator at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center and Kodiak Area Native Association in Kodiak, Alaska. Her broad experience has honed her skills in empowering patients to take control of their diabetes and improve their overall health.
Cynthia is inspired by the progress her patients make in managing diabetes. She finds deep satisfaction in helping them navigate the complexities of this condition and witnessing their steps toward better health.
Her journey to SEARHC began as an on-call RN at SEARHC’s Mountainside Urgent Care, in Juneau, where she developed an appreciation for the supportive staff and collaborative environment. She is proud to continue her work with SEARHC, making a positive impact in the lives of patients.
Personal Interests
Cynthia enjoys spending quality time with her family and her many animals, including a retired racehorse. When she’s not at home, she loves to travel and explore new countries and cultures.
