Wrangell Medical Center Recognized for Quality Laboratory Services

Wrangell, AK – SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium’s (SEARHC) Wrangell Medical Center has met all the criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA Inc., a leading national laboratory accreditor, whose program and standards enable clinical laboratories and staff to meet United States Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and other regulatory requirements.

Through a mentoring approach using education to improve quality and patient safety, accreditation is given to laboratories that apply the highest standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey. The Wrangell Medical Center has earned COLA Inc. accreditation to provide quality service to its patients.

“SEARHC is proud to receive recognition from COLA for our work at the Wrangell Medical Center’s Laboratory Services Department,” said Constance Stager, SEARHC’s Director of Laboratory Services. “Thanks to the diligent work of our lab teams, we are able to provide superior care to the Wrangell community.”

It is noteworthy that SEARHC’s Wrangell Medical Center received a perfect score on its COLA survey, which puts SEARHC in the top one percent of laboratories nationwide providing quality lab services. The Wrangell community can be assured they are receiving top-notch lab services from our team of skilled SEARHC staff, Stager said.
