Kimberlee Parmer is a compassionate and experienced counselor with a Master of Science in Human Services from Prairie View A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Illinois State University. Over the past decade, she has provided therapeutic services for individuals impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence through organizations such as Focusing Families and the Sexual Assault Resource Center in Texas. Her earlier work includes counseling and educational services for families affected by addiction at Shield Bearer Counseling Services in Houston, Texas.
Specializing in trauma and addiction, Kimberlee is deeply inspired by her clients’ bravery as they confront the challenges of recovery and healing. Having walked her own path of personal healing, she brings a unique perspective and empathy to her work, striving to “pay it forward” by helping others access their strength and resilience.
Kimberlee journeyed to Alaska in Nov. 2024, drawn by its natural beauty and the opportunity to join SEARHC, whose mission aligns with her values and passion for supporting individuals on their journey to wellness.
Personal Interests
In her free time, Kimberlee enjoys creating artwork using sea glass, rocks and wood, as well as sewing. She finds peace by the ocean, whether sitting on the beach or enjoying the relaxation of watching a baseball game—both of which help her stay present and grounded. Kimberlee also treasures hearing people’s stories, a reflection of her deep curiosity and respect for the human experience.
