Education and Experience
Dr. McCoy traveled far and wide for his academic training. His journey began at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon where he earned a BA in Chemistry, threw javelin on the Track and Field team and studied abroad at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Dr. McCoy then completed a Masters in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Washington in 2012. While at the UW, Dr. McCoy also completed a pre-doctoral fellowship in Dental Education in Care of Persons with Disabilities.
Dr. McCoy followed his passion for children’s dentistry by completing two years of specialty training in Dallas, Texas at Baylor College of Dentistry, earning a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and a Masters in Oral Biology. He also gained extensive clinical and emergency experience at Dallas’ Children’s Medical Center and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
Personal Interests
Dr. McCoy is excited to be serving families in Southeast Alaska. He has a passion for working with children while having fun and providing the best dental care possible.
Raised in Puyallup, Washington, Dr. McCoy is a Husky faithful (Go Dawgs!). In his spare time, he loves to stay active with sports and outdoors activities. You can find him shooting hoops at the park, hiking, or cheering in his purple and gold at Husky Stadium.
