Education and Experience
Sara earned her Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree in Nursing and her Master of Science (MSN) degree in Nursing from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Sara first began her work with SEARHC in 1996 when she was an Ambulatory Care and Triage Nurse in Ketchikan. She then took a role to be the Managed Care Coordinator for the Ketchikan Indian Corporation. Sara then rejoined the SEARHC team in 2005 and has been with the team ever since. She started in Juneau as a Pediatric Case Manager and then as the Director of Nursing before moving into her current role as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Angoon.
Regarding her time at SEARHC, Sara says, “Over the past 13 years, SEARHC has allowed me the opportunity to grow in my career. I have been afforded the honor and privilege of being able to provide medical care to the people of Angoon. It has been an invaluable and challenging learning experience that I enjoy on a daily basis.”
Personal Interests
Sara’s professional interest is in caring for people of all ages, especially children and elders.
In her personal time, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She’s also been training for distance races including half-marathons and triathlons.
