Education and Experience
Dr. Garrison received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from University of Arizona then attended medical school at Harvard Medical School. Following her studies, Dr. Garrison completed a general surgery residency in Seattle through the University of Washington and affiliated hospitals. Prior to joining the general surgery staff at Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center, she practiced as an acute care and general surgeon at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska and as a rural general surgeon in Shiprock, New Mexico at an Indian Health Service hospital on the Navajo Nation. Dr. Garrison has an interest in health disparities and improving surgical outcomes particularly in rural communities and amongst Alaska Native and American Indian patient populations. In her role, she most enjoys working with great colleagues and providing surgical care that improves the quality of life of her patients.
Personal Interests
Outside of work Dr. Garrison likes traveling, spending time with family and friends, baking, gardening, as well as Navajo rug weaving.
