Education and Experience
Dr. Essence Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from Prairie View A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in vision science from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. She completed her Doctor of Optometry at Salus University and went on to complete a residency in ocular disease at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta.
Her clinical focus is ocular disease, and she is passionate about expanding access to high-quality care and improving health equity across communities. Dr. Johnson is committed to serving patients with compassion and expertise, helping them navigate complex eye conditions such as diabetes-related complications, glaucoma, and acute eye injuries.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Dr. Johnson enjoys creating memorable moments with her husband and two children, traveling, and serving the community through her sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
