Education and Experience
Dr. Elizabeth Hunt earned a Doctor of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley. She completed clinical rotations at sites such as the Miami VA Medical Center and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which is consistently ranked the #1 eye hospital in the United States.
After graduating with clinical and academic honors, she relocated to Juneau and spent over a decade in private practice. She subsequently earned a Master of Science in Translational Pharmacology from The Ohio State University, enhancing her ability to critically evaluate scientific evidence and apply evidence-based clinical interventions.
Dr. Hunt joined SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) in January of 2024, with the opening of the Vintage Park location. She values the collegial environment at SEARHC, working across healthcare teams to improve outcomes. In 2026, she began splitting her time between clinical practice and working with the government to help ensure ophthalmic devices marketed in the United States are both safe and effective. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue direct patient care while serving the public on a broader scale.
