Education and Experience
Audrey Conrad is a dedicated Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who provides her expertise at the Haines Health Center. With a wealth of qualifications including as a Licensed Dietitian (LD) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Audrey brings a comprehensive approach to nutrition counseling and diabetes management.
Audrey completed her undergraduate studies, dietetic internship and Master of Science degree at UAA. Prior to joining Haines Health Center, she worked in the diabetes prevention and control department at Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC). During her time at YKHC, Audrey worked as part of a multidisciplinary diabetes team serving YK Delta community members. She also worked closely with the OB department, providing specialized support to pregnant women with gestational diabetes and preexisting diabetes.
To further enhance her ability to meet the needs of her patients, Audrey obtained the CDCES. This additional certification equips her with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide comprehensive care to individuals with diabetes.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Audrey’s work is establishing a strong rapport with her patients and assisting them in achieving their health goals. By providing personalized nutrition counseling and guidance, she empowers individuals to make positive lifestyle changes and optimize their well-being.
Personal Interests
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Audrey cherishes spending time with her family and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Skiing, biking, and hiking are among her favorite activities, allowing her to connect with nature and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
