Dr. Christian is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and has received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
Education and Experience
Dr. Betty Christian provides primary care with expertise in lifestyle coaching, diabetes management, medication-assisted treatment, HIV diagnosis and support, hepatitis C management, and healthcare for homeless and underserved populations. She earned her nursing degree from Palomar Community College in 1997 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in family medicine at the University of South Alabama.
Dr. Christian has dedicated her career to serving underserved populations in Alaska, Northern Arizona, and the Caribbean. She has volunteered with Project Medishare for Haiti and the Foundation for Peace in the Dominican Republic, experiences that continue to inspire her work. She values the dynamic nature of community family medicine and strives to meet patients where they are in their unique life journeys.
Personal Interests
Dr. Christian enjoys exploring Alaska’s outdoors, hiking with her family and dogs, boating, and fishing. She also loves traveling and immersing herself in new cultures, languages, and traditions.
