Education and Experience
Caroline Atterberry is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Trauma Counselor who grew up in Grafton, a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Prior to working in the field, Caroline attended Alverno College to complete her undergraduate and graduate studies. Caroline has experience in a variety of fields, including her work as a hospital neurology nursing assistant, as well as an autism behavioral therapist working with children under the age of eight. She completed her master’s internship hours at Pathfinders, a youth runaway shelter in Milwaukee, counseling teens and connecting them to resources and services for support. Most recently, Caroline worked for a non-profit in Milwaukee, providing mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment and family support services to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
Caroline finds that the most rewarding aspect of working in the behavioral health field is gaining the trust of her clients. “Trust is essential for any relationship and a key element in providing quality counseling. Trust can be broken or lost so easily, so being cognizant of this is necessary. If those we work with do not trust us, then progress will not happen,” said Atterberry.Personal Interests
Outside of work Caroline enjoys reading and listening to music. She also has a hand with quilting, knitting and cross-stitching. Caroline finds joy in attending concerts and live music, as well as visiting museums and cultural exhibits. As traveling is a passion of hers, Caroline hopes to visit more places on her bucket list in the future.
