SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) helped welcome baby girl Natalie Cove Hamer to the world on January 4, the first baby delivered at Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center (MEMC) in 2022. Natalie Cove Hamer was born at 3:33 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4th, to parents Jennifer Dooley and Raja Hamer of Sitka. Weighing in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long, Natalie was delivered by Dr. Roesel and Dr. Dimitrov. Natalie is the couple’s first child. MEMC has an obstetrics team committed to a safe and positive pre and post-natal delivery experience. MEMC is also recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF as a Baby-Friendly Hospital for providing breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence, and skills needed to initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies successfully.
