Juneau Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C. to Join SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium

JUNEAU, Alaska – The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) has announced an agreement for Juneau Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) to join SEARHC.

Juneau OB/GYN is a personalized, comprehensive practice that offers women’s health services by board-certified obstetricians, gynecologists and midwifes. The practice provides prenatal care, annual well woman visits, pap smears, infection screening, genetic counseling, pelvic floor treatment, advanced minimally invasive pelvic and reconstructive surgery.

“I am excited to partner with SEARHC, a market leader in delivering quality healthcare in Southeast Alaska, to improve access to expert care throughout the region, something that we have been working toward at the practice for the past seven years,” said Dr. Nick Newbury, DO, FACOOG, President, Juneau OB/GYN.

SEARHC currently offers a range of in-person and telehealth services for women’s health needs via primary care providers across Southeast Alaska as well as obstetrics and gynecology services in Sitka. One of the recent areas of focus for SEARHC has been to expand opportunities for its patients to access specialty care services, including obstetrics and gynecology care closer to home.

“We are very excited to expand the breadth and depth of women’s health services for our patients and adding Dr. Newbury’s practice to our staff greatly expands those opportunities,” said Dr. Elliot Bruhl, MD, FAAFP, Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, SEARHC. “They provide services that go above and beyond general women’s healthcare – things like surgical gynecology services, surgical and nonsurgical urogynecology, uterine and ovarian surgery and other pelvic surgeries. All of those are services that our patients need, but we often refer them outside of SEARHC, especially in Juneau. Now our patients will be able to access those services easily.”

“On the obstetrical side, SEARHC doctors currently focus on lower risk pregnancies,” Dr. Bruhl said. “Juneau OB/GYN brings expertise in obstetrical services for high-risk pregnancies and high-risk care in the hospital and outpatient setting. The group also provides comprehensive fertility services.

Another important aspect is that the expert team at Juneau OB/GYN can collaborate with our existing medical staff to enhance care for more complicated patient needs.”
