JUNEAU – Last week, SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) completed its latest Operational Site Visit conducted by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), the agency that provides grant funding dedicated to the operation of our primary care clinics outside of Juneau and Sitka. The visit was extremely successful with the preliminary HRSA report showing SEARHC met 100% of the 19 measured criteria.

 The site visits are conducted on a three-year schedule with the goal of assessing SEARHC’s overall compliance with the HRSA Bureau of Primary Health Care’s 19 Program Requirements, which encompass the areas of clinical services, finance, management, and governance.

On May 22, the new and expanded Children’s Dental Clinic in the SEARHC dental building in Juneau began seeing patients. The expansion has been in the planning stages since 2014 and was the logical next step in providing all children in the community, many of whom are recipients of Denali Kid Care, with access to dental care. With more space and more dentists, SEARHC can care for the oral health of more children in Juneau. Read more

JUNEAU – As SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) strives to enhance the quality of care for its patients and improve the patient experience; the organization has been keen on adopting technology that will help achieve those goals.

One of the most recent innovative technological upgrades within the Consortium is the integration of the Nuance PowerShare™ Network. This technology provides SEARHC with the ability to securely share radiology images (x-rays) electronically with medical providers outside of SEARHC and the Tribal Health System. It allows sharing with physicians outside the state of Alaska as well.
