We offer short-term housing for care in Sitka. Learn More

Many SEARHC patients from outside Sitka visit Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center to receive advanced healthcare services that require little or no hospitalization.

Our 7,820-square-foot short-term housing facility offers a safe, comfortable place to stay. Our facility offers 17 rooms with one full size bed and one twin sofa bed. In addition, two of our rooms are fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The facility serves Alaska Native and non-Native patients receiving healthcare services in Sitka, including care received at non-SEARHC facilities. We accept Medicaid payments for lodging, meals, and transportation, and we offer van service to and from the airport and ferry terminal.

Meals are provided at SEARHC’s Island Skillet Cafe, located on the ground floor of the main hospital building.
