The SEARHC Mobile Kitchen brings healthy cooking directly to communities throughout Southeast Alaska. Designed to promote nutrition, diabetes management, and heart health, this program offers hands-on cooking classes where participants of all ages—from kids to grandparents—learn to create nutritious meals at home. SEARHC’s health educators and Registered Dietitians guide participants in using local ingredients to craft easy, healthy recipes that are both accessible and delicious.
Launched to support healthy eating habits in communities with limited access to nutritious foods, the Mobile Kitchen has since made stops in Angoon, Kake, Craig, Klawock, Haines, Klukwan, Juneau, Sitka, Thorne Bay, Whale Pass and Wrangell. At every visit, participants gain valuable tips and practical skills for maintaining a healthy diet that supports overall well-being.
