Education and Experience
Riley earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Michigan State University, completed a Dietetic Internship with a focus in Sustainable Food Systems verified by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics at Montana State University, and later obtained her Master of Science in Dietetic Systems Leadership from Montana State University.
After graduating from Michigan State University, Riley moved to Montana to complete a dietetic internship through Montana State University, otherwise known as Montana Dietetic Internship (MDI). As a part of MDI, Riley worked with Indigenous populations in the Blackfeet and Crow Nations during clinical rotations, specifically working with diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. In addition to clinical rotations, Riley also gained experience with WIC, school nutrition and Farm to School, chronic kidney disease, bariatric surgery, and sports nutrition at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT. After the internship, Riley passed the RD exam through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and went on to volunteer as a dietitian in Delhi, India to gain more experience in malnutrition, diabetes, and international nutrition and healthcare.
Riley started working as a Clinical Dietitian with SEARHC in March of 2020. She is passionate about Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating, and Diabetes. When asked about joining SEARHC Riley said, “I feel so lucky to be working with so many intelligent, compassionate and empathetic healthcare professionals in a place with so much beauty.”
Personal Interests
Riley’s professional interests include Diabetes, Intuitive Eating, and Health at Every Size. Outside the clinic, Riley enjoys hiking, traveling, photography, camping, scuba diving, spending time on/in the water, making and eating sushi.
