We may need to address disordered eating behaviors or faulty beliefs we may have around food, our bodies and our ability to change. Behavioral Health providers are available to assist patients needing more intensive interventions.
More about Behavioral HealthAs with many other diseases, medication can be an effective and necessary tool of treatment. Medication helps treat obesity; it does not cure obesity. The purpose of medication is to make it easier to make healthy changes in diet, activity and behaviors. Obesity medications work by decreasing appetite and/or affecting the reward system in the brain to decrease cravings or increase satiety.
Beyond the Scale consists of 12 sessions, presented once a month. Our team of registered dietitians are ready to help each patient start where they are. Participants will learn about healthier options, successfully navigating the grocery store, reading food labels, adding exercise to your daily routine, choosing health goals, creating healthy coping tools, talking about barriers and more. Beyond the Scale will offer education, provide resources and support your health goals. Our team will work together and support you through this program and your journey to health and wellness.
