Featured Preventive Service: Colorectal Cancer Screening

SEARHC offers colorectal cancer screening across Southeast Alaska. Screening recommendations vary by risk:

Visit our Colorectal Screening resources to learn why routine screening matters and to see the options available through SEARHC.

Offered in both Sitka and Wrangell, this diagnostic procedure can identify abnormalities in the colon, including polyps, also referred to as adenomas. Polyps or adenomas can then be removed during the procedure and sent to the lab for further analysis.

Video Consultation Available

Recognizing that meeting in-person with your surgical care team in the Southeast region can involve travel, SEARHC offers preliminary video consultations. This connects patients with their surgical care teams, helps determine if surgery is needed, and better ensures patients feel informed before traveling for an in-person appointment.

Our team is here to guide you every step of the way — ensuring expert surgical care, closer to home.
