Fostering Sustainable Lifestyle Changes
To support a patient’s safe and effective weight loss journey and improve health outcomes, SEARHC is implementing a healthy lifestyle education program, Beyond the Scale, in March 2025.
Beyond the Scale consists of 12 sessions, presented once a month. Our team of registered dietitians are ready to help each patient start where they are. Participants will learn about healthier options, successfully navigating the grocery store, reading food labels, adding exercise to your daily routine, choosing health goals, creating healthy coping tools, talking about barriers and more. Beyond the Scale will offer education, provide resources and support your health goals. Our team will work together and support you through this program and your journey to health and wellness.
Depending on your location in Southeast Alaska, classes will be presented virtually or in person.

- Haines | Haines Health Center
- Klawock | Alicia Roberts Medical Center
- Sitka | Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center & Community Health Services Building
- Wrangell | Wrangell Medical Center

- Managing Stress and Finding Support
- Maintaining Your Progress

Following receipt of a provider referral, a SEARHC Referral Care Coordinator will help the patient with enrollment in the program. Beyond the Scale classes are offered at no out-of-pocket cost to the patient.
