Low Data Mode Active

Low Data Mode: Faster Pages for Limited Connections

For many patients in rural Alaska, satellite or 3G is the only internet available, making a standard healthcare website hard to use. Slow speeds and hard monthly data caps should not be a barrier to healthcare information. That’s why we built Low Data Mode.

Low Data Mode is a toggle you’ll find in the menu. Turn it on for a lightweight, text-only version of the site with images, video, animations, and custom fonts stripped away. You’ll know it’s working when the toggle turns green and a “Low Data Mode Active” bar appears at the top of the page. It’s the same website, the same information, and the access you need — just a faster experience using a fraction of the data.

On a slow or limited connection, searching for a provider, finding a clinic, and researching health services becomes a hassle when you’re waiting on every page load. And for someone managing a household on a limited monthly data plan, every bit of data you save matters.

Low Data Mode is a small feature, but one we took seriously. Healthcare information should not be harder to reach because of where you live.
