SITKA – The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) recently welcomed new provider Dr. Drew Thompson, MD, to the SEARHC team. Thompson is the newest Primary Care Physician at Sitka Medical Center.
A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Thompson attended the University of Utah as an undergraduate. He then moved to California for medical school at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and then on to University of California, Berkeley where he received a master’s degree. Thompson returned to UCSF for his residency. His affinity to long-term doctor-patient relationships pushed him to pursue Primary Care. Thompson specializes in Internal Medicine and received a certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
“People are the most rewarding part of my work,” said Thompson. “I also love that as a physician I’m always learning. Not only learning new things about the body and medicine, but also learning about the people and the world around me.”
Sitka Medical Center offers Primary Care services Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, call 907.966.8761.
