SEARHC offers help with health coverage enrollment before January 31 deadline

HAINES – Open enrollment through the Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace began November 1, 2015, and continues through January 31, 2016. To help the Haines community members navigate the process, SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) Outreach and Enrollment Specialist, Susan Briles will be at the Haines Clinic January 9 – 12. She is available by appointment to help people apply for insurance on the Health Insurance Marketplace, renew their Marketplace insurance, and apply for Medicaid.

“The majority of people that apply for health insurance on the Marketplace can get low-cost plans. Additionally, this is the first year that single adults and married couples without children are eligible for Medicaid. This is your chance to get affordable health coverage. I encourage people to contact me to explore your options,” says Susan Briles, Outreach & Enrollment Specialist for SEARHC. “We are trained to help you navigate the process of getting yourself covered and avoid common Marketplace problems.”

SEARHC is a Certified Application Counselor agency offering free assistance to all Southeast residents. Those who are interested are encouraged to call the Haines Clinic at 907-766-6300 to set up an appointment.
