Assistance determining Health Insurance Marketplace taxes and exemptions is available

SITKA – The tax deadline is fast approaching, and everyone with health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace is required to file taxes. Those that have health coverage through the Marketplace and received assistance paying for your monthly premium must file taxes with an IRS 1095A form.

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) Outreach and Enrollment Program is available to assist Southeast residents with their 1095A form as well as to determine tax penalty exemptions. Many exemptions can be filed with your taxes including tribal & affordability exemptions.

“Preparing your taxes can be stressful and confusing,” says Andrea Thomas, Outreach & Enrollment Manager for SEARHC. “We are trained to help you navigate the process by making sure you have the correct form and file exemptions.”

SEARHC is a Certified Application Counselor agency offering free assistance to all Southeast residents. For more information, please call(907) 966-8883 or (907) 966-8662.
