SEARHC Opening New Juneau Physical Rehabilitation Clinic with Expanded Services at 1720 Crest Street

JUNEAU, AK – SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) announces the grand opening of its new, expanded Physical Rehabilitation Clinic at the old Armory Log Cabin at 1720 Crest Street in Juneau.

The new SEARHC Physical Rehabilitation Clinic will feature expanded services across physical, occupational, speech and pediatric therapy to better serve the diverse needs of the Juneau community.

“The expansion is a natural step for a community that has significant shortages in physical rehabilitation services,” said Bill Spivey, SEARHC Director of Rehabilitation Services. “We look forward to improving much-needed access to all of our clinicians.”

The new location offers a much bigger footprint than the previous space, allowing SEARHC’s rehabilitation staff to work with patients in motion in a more expansive area. In the Mendenhall Valley, the clinic is centrally located for all of Juneau, with ample parking, an area dedicated to sensory motor treatment and additional treatment rooms for speech language pathology and occupational therapy, Spivey said.

“An expanded therapy space allows SEARHC to provide therapy services throughout a patient’s lifespan,” added Kathleen Hansen, SEARHC Rehabilitation Manager. “The goal is to decrease the time it takes to get scheduled for a therapy visit. An expanded footprint allows SEARHC to provide more access for all.”

With the opening of the new Clinic, SEARHC aims to support patients in restoring, regaining and maximizing their quality of life and overall wellness.

“Our goal is to support individuals in accessing the activities that bring them joy and support their participation in meaningful activities,” Hansen said. “There’s no greater feeling than hearing a patient’s excitement when they get back on the baseball field after a hand injury, have comfort and pain free movement when beading or seeing families implement the strategies to support their child’s growth and development.”

The SEARHC Physical Rehabilitation Clinic at 1720 Crest Street in Juneau will be open to the public on Monday, October 31, 2022. For more information, visit the Physical Rehabilitation page, or call 907.463.6682
