SEARHC Achieves Milestone with Completion of Initial DNV Accreditation Survey

SITKA, Alaska – SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC), proudly announces the successful completion of its initial DNV accreditation survey, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The survey was conducted at Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center and outpatient clinics across the Consortium, following a survey conducted at its Wrangell Medical Center earlier this year and SEARHC’s transition from The Joint Commission to Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Healthcare USA as its contracted accreditation program. DNV, a global leader in healthcare accreditation, brings a unique approach that integrates internationally recognized standards with a continuous improvement mindset. Their focus is on aligning clinical excellence with operational efficiency to help organizations foster a culture of safety and innovation.

“This milestone represents the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” said SEARHC President & Chief Executive Officer, Charles Clement. “These surveys are opportunities to grow and strengthen our practices and processes. This aligns with SEARHC’s mission to provide the best healthcare for our communities.

”The completion of the initial survey marks the beginning of a collaborative relationship with DNV, whose patient-focused framework ensures ongoing evaluation and support. Through this partnership SEARHC will benefit from DNV’s commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery by addressing areas for improvement.

“This process underscores our commitment to excellence in healthcare and our role as a trusted provider for Southeast Alaska,” said Clement. “We remain focused on continuous improvement to ensure our patients and communities receive the highest standard of care.

”SEARHC is dedicated to keeping its stakeholders informed as it progresses through the accreditation process and continues to elevate the quality of care provided throughout its facilities.
