SITKA – Sitka Physical Therapy, LLC (Sitka PT) and SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) officially affiliated on September 1, 2018. Combining Sitka PT with SEARHC immediately improved access to quality physical therapy services for all Sitkans and greatly enhanced the sports medicine services offered to SEARHC patients. The affiliation also strengthened the Consortium’s already excellent staff, and high-quality service portfolio by delivering pain management, rehabilitation, massage therapy, dry needling, and long-term care services in a gym setting.
Both SEARHC and Sitka PT share a commitment to ensuring Sitkans benefit from ongoing access to timely, top-level care demonstrated by building up the orthopedic and rehabilitation departments within SEARHC with Dr. David Brown and Eric Speck, MSPT, ATC at the helm. The organization looks forward to eventually creating an Orthopedic Rehabilitation unit and adding additional therapists as services expand.
“Sitka Physical Therapy has been a key provider and is well respected in the community,” said SEARHC President and Chief Executive Officer Charles Clement. “Our patients are our top priority. With the expansion of orthopedic services and the affiliation with Sitka PT, Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital patients benefit from additional resources, state-of-the-art treatment and recovery, and prevention services.”
Founded by Eric Speck, MSPT, ATC in 1999, and co-owned with Alicia Haseltine, PT, DPT, CMPT, Sitka PT has historically offered a comprehensive menu of outpatient rehabilitative services. The practice’s highly skilled providers specialize in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic and sports-related injuries as well as on-site coverage at local sporting events.
“We pride ourselves in offering personalized, one-on-one active treatment with an emphasis on total wellness and fitness that is exclusively under the care of a licensed physical therapist,” said Speck. “By teaming with SEARHC, we seized an opportunity to collaborate with high-level providers and support services which further our mutual goal of providing the best orthopedic and sports physical therapy services for Sitka and Southeast.”
