Preserving Juneau's Bounty (class)

Sarah Lewis is teaching her Preserving Juneau’s Bounty classes again through Community Schools. Class size is limited to 12, and pre-registration through Community Schools is required.In this class you will learn to make: sauerkraut, pickles, infused vinegars, jams, and jellies. We’ll also pressure can fish, meat and vegetables in jars, dehydrate fruit and vegetables, grind sausage and make jerky.

NOTE:

A.) PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Registration, class and supply fees must be received as soon as possible and at the latest October 4th. (Class size is limited to 12 students.)

B.) Students will be required to purchase 1-2 boxes of canning jars. (This is not included in the supply fee, more information upon registration.) Students may also bring a favorite cooking knife and a dish towel or two (though these will also be provided for those who choose not to).

Class meets on Saturdays (except for the last class which will meet on Sunday).

  • 10/8 – 1pm to 5pm
  • 10/15 – 1pm to 4pm
  • 10/22 – 1pm to 4pm
  • 10/29 – 1pm to 6pm
  • 10/30 – 1pm to 4pm
