Education and Experience
Erin earned her first Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology at Washington State University. She continued her education at Graceland University in Missouri and achieved her second Bachelor’s degree in Nursing before continuing on to attain her Master’s Degree in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Erin plans to take the national board exam to earn board certification as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and then pursue her Doctorate of Nursing.
Before becoming an FNP, Erin worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) for 16 years primarily in Alaska. Most of her experience was in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care. Erin worked for SEARHC for 17 years in numerous positions including Nurse Manager, Director of the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Trauma. She also worked as a flight nurse for Guardian and was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) prior to becoming an RN.
Erin was born and raised in Sitka which has made working for SEARHC a great privilege. She feels honored to have the opportunity to take care of friends and family as a recognizable face in the community.
Awards and Honors
Erin achieved a near perfect score on her Family Nurse Practitioner boards and was in the 99% percentile in the nation. She made the President’s and Dean’s list throughout her college years.
Erin has a special interest in Critical Care, Emergency and Pediatric Medicine.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, watching competitive sports (especially basketball, softball, and baseball), and traveling anywhere warm.
