Education and Experience
David graduated from The Frontier Nursing University with a Masters of Nursing Science. He received his Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Prior to nursing David graduated from University of Tennessee Knoxville with Bachelors of Music and attended Johnson & Wales school of culinary arts.
Before David joined SEARHC he worked in Pediatrics in Athens, TN and Family medicine in a Federally Qualified Health Clinic in Madisonville, TN. David also worked an Acute/Urgent Care Clinic in Wenatchee, WA and at the Front Street Clinic, in Juneau.
Professionally, working for SEARHC provides autonomy. Additionally SEARHC provides resources needed by his patient population to get treatment at the Front Street Clinic that would otherwise need travel to specialists.
Awards and Honors
In nursing school David was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau honor society for nurses and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
David enjoys treating the homeless population of Juneau as well as patients with complex internal medicine, psychiatric, and substance misuse problems. David’s personal interests include family activities centered around Southeast Alaska’s outdoors such as fishing and hunting. Other interests include Ashtanga Yoga, playing guitar and composing songs, and cooking.
