SITKA – SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) will host three new free “Doc Talks” presentations beginning Wednesday, April 13.
The providers at SEARHC believe the best way to prevent illness and injury is through education. Reaching out to the community with a variety of topics presented by SEARHC’s Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital’s providers and specialists is an excellent way to give Sitka community members the opportunity to learn more about how to maintain their health.
At each Doc Talk, a Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital provider will present a different topic and answer questions from the audience.
These presentations are offered at no cost to ensure ”Doc Talks” is accessible to everyone in the community. As an added convenience, there is no pre-registration required.
The three presentations begin April 13 at the Hames Center (121 John Brady Dr.). Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided beginning at 6:30 pm with the educational session starting at 7:00 pm.
The spring Doc Talks schedule is as follows:
- Wednesday, April 13, 2016: How sugar works on the brain, aka why can’t I stop eating cookies? (Dr. Sul Ross Thorward and Health Promotion Director, Martha Pearson)
