Sitka – As part of an ongoing effort to expand access to healthcare services, SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is pleased to announce that Behavioral Health Specialist Kari Lundgren, PA-C has re-joined the team at the Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic. Ms. Lundgren is now seeing patients of all ages as part of the Consortium’s efforts to meet the growing need for mental and behavioral health services in the region.
Ms. Lundgren will provide psychiatric evaluations for adolescents, adults and elders in the Sitka area. She can prescribe medications when patients need it and will assist patients with their medication management. Ms. Lundgren has 23 years of clinical experience working with SEARHC. She has served as CHAP program staff, the Assistant Medical Director for CHS, a Mt. Edgecumbe High School Student Health Center Clinician and the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider at Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic (Haa Toowoo Naakw Hit).
Ms. Lundgren graduated from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis St. Paul with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education. She went on to earn her Physician Assistant degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and NCCPA (National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants) CAQ (Certificate of Added Qualifications) certification in Psychiatry.
Ms. Lundgren’s professional interests include helping patients with addiction and substance-related issues, as well as providing patients a supportive space for trauma-informed care. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, listening to music and flying float planes.
