If you are eligible, you will receive checks to use at your local store to get healthy foods. If you do not live near a store, WIC will mail your items. WIC provides foods that are rich in protein, calcium, iron and vitamins A, C, and D.

WIC provides information based on clients' expressed interests and needs about nutrition and health to help families eat well and be healthy.

Breastfeeding Information and Support

WIC supports and encourages women to breastfeed by providing:

  • Support and education for successful initiation;
  • support, counseling and needed referrals to extend breastfeeding duration;
  • manual or electric breast pumps as needed and available;
  • free access to our breastfeeding peer counselors and 24-hour warm line in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka.

WIC offers assistance finding health care and other community services.
