The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) will host a special Denali KidCare pediatric dental clinic on Feb. 8-12 at the Trudy Wolfe Medical Clinic in Hoonah. This special pediatric clinic will feature dental examination appointments on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 8-9, with follow-up treatment taking place later in the week (Feb. 10-12). The clinic is open for children younger than 18 years old who are currently enrolled in the State of Alaska’s Denali KidCare program or are on Medicaid. Dr. Howard Hunt will lead the pediatric dental team for this clinic. Parents and guardians who wish to have their children participate in this special clinic should call Veronica Dalton with Hoonah Parents As Teachers at 945-3792 to schedule an exam appointment. For more information about SEARHC’s Denali KidCare special clinics, contact Cara Gilbert, SEARHC Pediatric Dental Coordinator in Juneau, at 364-4494, or call Veronica Dalton at the Hoonah Parents As Teachers number. Denali KidCare is a state program designed to make sure Alaska resident children younger than 18 of working and non-working parents, and expecting mothers who meet income guidelines, have insurance so they have full access to health care.
