SEARHC Behavioral Health hosts community healing circle

February 09 2010

The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health (SEARHC) Behavioral Health Division will host a community healing circle in Sitka on Saturday, Feb. 13, in the first-floor conference room of the SEARHC Community Health Services building, 1212 Seward Ave. (located down the hill from Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital, it’s the building behind the totem pole). The event starts with a potluck dinner between 6-7 p.m., with the healing circle beginning at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Talking circles (or healing circles) have been in Native American cultures for thousands of years. Their purpose has been to share personal feelings, thoughts and beliefs. For more information, contact Harry Bradley of the SEARHC Gunaanastí Bill Brady Healing Center at 966-8655 or SEARHC Behavioral Health Division Director Melody Price-Yonts at 966-8776. ###
