August 15 2010The mobile mammogram van will visit Haines starting on Monday, Aug. 30, with appointments running through Monday, Sept. 13 (no weekend appointments). The van uses digital imaging technology. Women wanting to schedule a mammogram should call the SEARHC Haines Health Center at 766-6300. All women will need to arrange to have a current clinical breast exam (done within the past six months) before they schedule their mammogram. If you have not had a current breast exam since March, you can make an appointment when you call to schedule your mammogram. If you also are due for your women’s health exam and heart health check, please let the clinic know so sufficient time is scheduled for you to have this done. The SEARHC WISEWOMAN Women’s Health Program provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms, Pap tests and cardiovascular screenings for all women ages 40-64 who meet income and insurance guidelines. To find out if you qualify, contact the SEARHC Haines Health Center or call the SEARHC WISEWOMAN Women’s Health Program at 1-888-388-8782. The mobile mammogram van program is sponsored by SEARHC and Bartlett Regional Hospital.
