Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine (Philadelphia). He completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Virginia Medical Center (Charlottesville, Va.). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in premedicine from The Penn State University (State College, Pa.). Before deciding to make Haines his home, Dr. Anderson worked at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka. He also has worked as a locum tenens physician (traveling physician) with stops in Sitka, Bethel, Kotzebue and Ketchikan in Alaska, in addition to other assignments in Washington State and California.
Dr. Anderson’s special interests include general family medicine, obstetrics and evidence-based medicine. He also enjoys hiking, fishing, photography and mountain climbing. Dr. Anderson is the medical director for the SEARHC Haines Health Center.
