Kathleen H. Wescott, MA
Behavioral Health, Clinician
Kathleen holds a Master of Arts degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of San Diego. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in recreation therapy and public administration from San Diego State University. She worked as a clinical intern with the Veterans Administration Health Care Family Mental Health Clinic in La Jolla, Calif., providing marriage and couple's counseling. She also worked as a clinical intern with the VA's Wellness and Vocational Enrichment Clinic (WAVE program), providing alcohol and substance abuse intake, and individual counseling. She served as a volunteer coordinator with San Diego Hospice and Palliative Care, spent 15 years as community social services director with the American Red Cross in San Diego, and was director of education and family services at the Parkinson's Association of San Diego.
Awards & Honors
Kathleen won a TWIN (Tribute to Women and Industry) in 2003 from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and she also won an American Red Cross Manager/Leadership Award.
Kathleen has a special behavioral health interest in working with individuals with dual diagnosis, alcohol and substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in veterans, and couples/families. She also enjoys spending time hiking with her spouse, enjoying her young grandson and adult children, walking her golden retrievers, swimming and Zumba.
